Specialty Coffee Explained Simply

What sets specialty coffee apart from commercial blends, and why the difference is obvious in the cup.

Specialty coffee starts with the farm. Unlike commercial coffee, which blends beans from multiple origins to hit a price point, specialty coffee is traceable to a single farm, region, or cooperative. The score matters too. Specialty grade requires a cupping score above 80 out of 100, evaluated by a certified Q Grader.
